CTC's chemical testing laboratories, with their specialisation and state-of-the-art equipment, have in-depth expertise in the assessment of materials, components and chemicals used in footwear, covering the fashion, luxury, sports and personal protective equipment sectors.
Accredited to ISO17025, our laboratories are strategically located in key production and supply areas, including Europe, China and Vietnam. In addition, CTC has a solid network of international partners in Spain, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Portugal and India.
As a result, our specialists are at your disposal to offer you personalised assistance, guaranteeing solutions tailored to your requirements and high-quality support.
CTC is heavily involved in international standardisation committees and the regulatory monitoring work carried out by our experts to anticipate developments and recommend relevant analyses. As a result, CTC will recommend the appropriate analyses depending on the materials making up your product, but also depending on the country in which it is marketed and therefore the applicable legislation.
CTC can help you draw up RSL specifications, carry out chemical, physical, biomechanical and environmental tests, and keep an international watch on substances of concern, etc.
At CTC, we carry out chemical tests to quantify substances that are harmful to humans or the environment. These tests can be carried out on all types of article (footwear, leather goods, gloves, clothing, accessories, personal protective equipment, etc.): we can help you define a test programme tailored to the different materials in your products, thanks to our knowledge of the ‘leather’, ‘textile’, “polymer” and ‘metal’ matrices.
We also carry out chemical tests in the ‘water matrix’ with our microbiological analysis laboratory, also known as the environmental analysis laboratory.
We can offer you a tailor-made chemical analysis programme to meet the requirements that apply to your products, for example:
The test programme will also take into account your internal quality requirements (specifications, RSL ).
For complete support in your quality approach, CTC integrates :
Consumer goods intended for sale on the European market must comply with numerous chemical constraints, particularly those defined in the REACh regulation. This is a European Union (EU) regulation adopted at the end of 2006 to protect human health and the environment against the risks associated with chemical substances.
Annex XVII of the REACh regulation sets out mandatory restrictions for articles intended for European consumers, whether they are manufactured in a European Union country or outside Europe. This annex evolves periodically with the definition of new chemical requirements: CTC has a monitoring activity to enable you to anticipate future changes.
In addition to restrictions, the REACh regulation may impose a communication obligation for certain substances present in your articles. These are substances identified as being of very high concern (SVHC) and included on the Candidate List.
Ultimately, Europe aims to include these SVHCs in its Annex XIV, making their use subject to authorisation. Without authorisation, these substances can no longer be used in European factories.
CTC's expertise enables it to identify critical SVHC substances for leather, textile and polymer materials.
Dangerous chemical substances controlled in products may be allergenic, irritant or CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction). Among the substances that are regulated or known to be dangerous, the CTC laboratories offer the following analyses (non-exhaustive list):
CTC's laboratories, accredited to ISO 17025, are dedicated to clothing and accessories for the fashion, luxury and sports sectors. They are ideally located in manufacturing zones in Europe, China, India, Vietnam, Tunisia, etc.
The choice of materials plays a vital role in the manufacture of leather and textile products. It also influences consumer perceptions and purchasing decisions.
Material characterisation enables a wide range of properties to be assessed, including physical, chemical, mechanical and thermal properties.
The main aim of these laboratory analyses is to optimise industrial processes while guaranteeing compliance with current standards.
As a materials laboratory, CTC offers you in-depth expertise and state-of-the-art analytical resources.
