CTC has been helping companies in the industry reduce their impact on the environment for over half a century now. This process began in the 1970s with legislation on classified installations for environmental protection.
At the time, CTC helped design numerous treatment plants for tannery effluents. Although many solutions have since been developed in all areas of sustainable development, the industry still faces a number of challenges, including global warming and the use of resources.
Our teams work daily with manufacturers and brands to guide them in improving and implementing more responsible practices.
These actions may take various forms, such as: diagnosis, publications, webinars and seminars, specific training courses, consulting...
They cover all of CTC's areas of expertise: leather materials, innovation, sustainable development, fashion, and finished products.
In an effort to set an example, CTC has also implemented an internal process aimed at implementing the company's objectives and applying a strategy within the company, as well as raising awareness of CSR practices among our workforce.
In 2025, CTC was awarded the gold medal for the ‘Pro-Vélo Employer’ label, which recognises private, public and voluntary sector employers who are committed to promoting cycling to and from work. CTC has also been awarded European Cycle Friendly Employer © certification.
All of CTC's practices have been challenged annually via the EcoVadis assessment since 2022, which helps us to improve and better structure our CSR approach.
The EcoVadis CSR assessment is based on four main areas:
In 2024, CTC was awarded the EcoVadis "Committed" badge ("Committed Company”).
