PFAS analysis

Thanks to our solid experience in analysing various compounds within different matrices, our laboratories are perfectly equipped to conduct the analyses necessary to detect per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, commonly known as PFAS, whether in the environment or in consumer products.

Since July 2023, CTC has been accredited for the analysis of the 20 compulsory PFAS in accordance with the Ministerial Decree of 20 June 2023, and we comply with the strict requirements set by the DREAL (Regional Directorate for the Environment, Land Development and Housing) with a sensitivity of 10 ng/L.

CTC is the 1st laboratory accredited for PFAS in France.

We are honoured by our pioneering status in this field. We offer extraction and analysis services for more than 30 PFAS thanks to our “Free PFAS” analytical configuration.

CTC methodology

In accordance with the French government’s latest inter-ministerial action plan for PFAS, CTC conducts PFAS analyses using the liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS) technique.

This method is one of the most successful at effectively identifying and measuring the contaminants in the different matrices subject to analysis.

Some of the 30 PFAS are also analysed using the GC/MS-MS or GC/PCI-MS-MS techniques.
