Our different types of inspection

Discover our range of inspection services designed to meet all your needs.

In-process inspection

Inspections carried out during the production process are crucial for identifying the improvements to be made before the products are finalised. This is the ideal time to carry out quality control of your leather goods or gloves. Our inspectors ensure that the end-products will meet the client’s specifications.

Drawing on our experience, we help the factory identify any adjustments that need to be made immediately and, most importantly, before the end of the production process..

Pre-shipment inspection

Conducted in accordance with standard ISO 28590:2017, these inspections (also known as FRI for Final Random Inspection) guarantee the quantity and quality of leather goods and gloves before they are shipped. These checks also ensure that the products are compliant, correctly labelled and packaged, and that the shipping cartons contain all the necessary information.

Assistance from a CTC quality expert (QA = quality assurance)

This bespoke service consists of quality checks carried out on the factory floor by CTC inspectors or technicians, with the aim of securing the processes on the production lines.

You benefit from the unique expertise of our Quality Assurance (QA) inspectors, who have acquired their experience in the leather, leather goods and glove-making markets.

We will assign you a specialist expert, who will be on your factory floor throughout production process, to ensure quality in real time on a daily basis.

This will allow you to tap into our know-how and learn the best practices that have contributed to our reputation with the world's leading fashion and luxury brands.

This service can also include daily reports on the quality of your production.

The CTC Self-Inspection Programme

Your factories can carry out sampling inspections on your orders.

CTC is able to train and certify quality controllers in your factories through our CTC Self-Inspection Programme. This involves approximately 2.5 days of training, both in a classroom-type setting and on the factory floor.

Once the quality controllers (QC) have been trained, we supervise their first inspections and, if they meet the required standard, issue them with a CTC certificate to qualify them.

Our teams coordinate and oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Self-Inspection Programme, which includes:

  • Training factory QCs to carry out sample inspections
  • Training factory QCs to inspect orders according to your requirements and service agreements
  • Carrying out correlation checks
  • Carrying out random checks
  • Setting up a monitoring system for your Self-Inspection Programme (by factory, by certified QC, by product type, etc.).

The CTC Self-Inspection Programme offers the advantage of making your factories accountable for meeting your quality requirements for the products and services associated with your orders.

Our different types of inspection and quality control services

Here is an overview of the different types of quality control carried out by our inspection experts.

Inspection of finished products: leather goods, gloves, etc.

The inspection involves a visual check of the following points:

  • Order quantities and assortments
  • Production quality
  • Conformity with a conformity sample and/or a product specification sheet
  • Packaging in relation to a client specification sheet and/or a client process.

Verification of order quantities and assortments

Copies of your orders are used as a reference to check the quantities and assortments of your shipments.

Production quality control (AQL)

Quality control consists in counting the number of defective products in a sample and determining the category of the defects found (critical, major or minor), using the following classification:

  • Critical defects: these are defects that could compromise the safety of the user, or defects that render the product non-compliant with legislation (e.g. the presence of pins or staples, a missing care label or mandatory label, etc.). In other words, any defect that can be visually detected and indicates the presence of an object that was used in the manufacture of the inspected product and could potentially cause bodily harm to the consumer.
  • Major defects: these are defects that affect the appearance, strength or solidity of the product, rendering it unfit for normal distribution.
  • Minor defects: these are defects that affect the product’s aesthetic characteristics without rendering it unfit for sale.

CTC can help you create or adapt your quality checklist to ensure that your orders are up to standard. The inspector lists the defects found and their number (per defect category).

Conformity check

The conformity check involves assessing the general appearance of the leather goods - glove-making product in comparison with the conformity sample and/or the product specification sheet: product colour, type of accessories, position of accessories...

Packaging check

During the packaging check, the following parameters are verified for all opened cartons:

  • Measurements
  • Quantities
  • Assortment
  • Labelling
  • Packaging.
