UKCA Certification for PPE

On 31 January 2020, in withdrawing the United Kingdom from the European Union, Brexit marked the start of a new chapter for the free movement of goods.

The UKCA marking, once considered obligatory following a transition period, is no longer mandatory for CE-marked PPE. The latest decrees issued by the British government authorise PPE bearing only the CE marking to be placed on the UK market. The legislation will apply indefinitely.

A guide explains how to use the UKCA marking: see the guidance on placing products on the market in Great Britain using UK or EU product markings.

However, if you would like our support, CTC has developed a unique partnership with a UK-approved body to help you obtain a UKCA certificate allowing you to use both markings on your products.
