Laboratory analysis and testing

Physical and chemical tests ensure that your materials and finished products meet regulatory limits and deliver the expected performance.

This exclusive database allows you to find the main tests to be performed by CTC based on the product, technical criteria, and/or standards.

Water leak test
The objective is to verify that the glove does not have any leaks to water or to liquids. GlovesMechanical resistance / PEENF EN 374-2 § 4.2
Air leak test
The objective is to verify that the glove does not produce air leak. GlovesMechanical resistance / PEENF EN 374-2 § 4.1
Tear resistance
During use, gloves can be subject to tearing constraints. The purpose of the test is to verify the level of performance concerning the tear resistance of the glove. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 6.3
Abrasion resistance
During use, gloves can be subject to abrasion constraints. The objective of the test is to verify the level of performance against the criterion. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 388 § 6.1
Determination of water vapour absorption
In order to provide good comfort, especially when the protection characteristic of the glove inhibits or excludes vapour transmission, it is possible to check the potential water vapour absorption. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 5.3.2
Water vapour transmission
The test quantifies the perspiration of the glove material by evaluating the quantity of water vapour transmission. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 5.3.1
Dexterity
The test allows measuring the aptitude to pick up objects. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 5.2
Size and measurement of gloves
This test measures the chromium quantity in a leather sample. The test verifies if the sizes of gloves are defined with respect to the sizes of the hands they are to fit. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 5.1.2
Determination of chromium (VI) content
This test measures the chromium quantity in a leather sample. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 4.3.3
Determination of pH value
This test determine the amount of acid or alkali in the glove components. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 § 4.3.2
Resistance of glove materials to water penetration
This test permits to measure the resistance of glove material to water penetration. Time of penetration is used to determine the performances. GlovesMechanical resistanceNF EN 420 §4.2
Stairs resistance
The purpose of this determination is to assess the wear caused by taking roller luggage up and down stairs. LuggageMechanical resistanceCTC method - CTC-P-BA-014
Wheel durability - endurance
The purpose of this determination is to assess the durability of trolley items, in terms of their rolling system coupled to the telescopic handle. LuggageMechanical resistanceCTC method - CTC-P-BA-014
Drop tests on surfaces and corners
The purpose of this determination is to assess the item’s resistance to free fall on its faces, edges and corners. This is used to evaluate the resistance to accidental falls. LuggageMechanical resistanceCTC method - CTC-P-BA-014
Water resistance
The purpose of this determination is to assess the water resistance of the luggage. This is used to check that in case of rain, the inside of the luggage stays dry. LuggageMechanical resistanceNF G 92 001 §4.2.2
