Drop tests on surfaces and corners

Objective

The purpose of this determination is to assess the item’s resistance to free fall on its faces, edges and corners. This is used to evaluate the resistance to accidental falls.

Principle

The weighted luggage is subjected to free falls from certain heights on its faces, edges and corners (26 falls). Any irreversible deterioration is noted.
