Resistance to tensile strength and elongation

Objective

This method is used to evaluate the breaking strength and elongation of the sole material. This can give an indication as to the overall quality of the material.

Principle

The test consists of subjecting a dumbbell- shaped specimen to tensile force to breaking point. The test is performed on
a dynamometer.
The result corresponds to the tensile breaking strength expressed in N/mm2*, and to the breaking elongation expressed as a percentage.

* Newton per mm².

Type: Physical and mechanical test
