Flex resistance (small size)

Objective

This method is used to evaluate the repeated flex resistance of elastomer soles. It is specially reserved for children footwear (size below 34).

Principle

The test consists of pre-cutting a 2 mm notch in a specimen taken from the flex zone, and monitoring the increase in the notch. The test is performed on a De Mattia flexometer, at 150 cycles per minute.
The result corresponds to the notch increase at the end of the cycle (100,000 flexes), expressed in mm.

Type: Physical and mechanical test
Standard: ISO 132
Product: Footwear
