Adhesion of finishing

Objective

This test is used to check the adhesion forces between the finish and the leather.
This test is used to check whether the leather finish might peel in use.

Principle

The test consists of measuring the force required to detach the finish from a leather sample, which is pre-glued onto a plastic backing, by means of a dynamometer at a rate of 100 mm/min.
The test is performed dry and/or wet. The results comprise the adhesion strengths expressed in daN/cm*.
