Abrasion resistance

Objective

The outsoles and top-pieces are parts subjected to abrasion wear. This test is used to evaluate the durability of these
components subjected to these stresses.

Principle

The test consists of subjecting a sample of the material to be tested to standardised abrasion. The mass of the sample
is measured before and after abrasion. In this way the mass loss due to wear can be evaluated. Since the density is also verified, the volume loss can be calculated.
The result corresponds to the loss of volume, expressed in mm3, and the density of the material.
