Static absorption of water

Objective

This test used to determie the water absorption of leather under static conditions.The absorption of water by a leather during immersion is one of its comfort characteristics.
This test is suitable for all types of leather used in footwear manufacture.

Principle

The test consists of immersing a leather test piece in water for a known period of time, then measuring the volume of water absorbed.
