Permanent deformation

Objective

This test measures the deformation of a leather specimen that has undergone a tensile test, followed by a break in tension and a rest period.

Principle

The test consists in pulling a specimen at a constant speed until a given force is reached, then, after release and cessation of tension, measuring the specimen's elongation.
