Tensile properties

Objective

This test is used to evaluate the breaking strength and elongation of leather.

Principle

The test consists of subjecting a dumbbell- shaped specimen to tensile force to breaking point. The test is performed on a dynamometer at a rate of 100 mm/min.
The results correspond to the breaking strength expressed in N/mm2*, and to the breaking elongation expressed in %.
