Objective

The tear strength is an important factor for shoes, parameter. This method is used to evaluate the tear strength of the instep materials.

Principle

The test consists of measuring the force required to propagate a notch on a sample taken from the shoe. The test is performed on a dynamometer at a rate of 100 mm/ min.
The result is expressed in N.
