Cut-resistant shoe (CR)

 

Objective

This test verifies the cut resistance of the entire shoe's materials.

 

Principle

Two specimens of each of the three sizes are subjected to cut tests in accordance with EN 388. Cutting tests consist in measuring the number of round trips a circular blade has to make to cut the full thickness of the samples.
The result is expressed as a cutting index and must not be less than 2.5 (or have a blunt blade).
