Objective

This test assesses a product's watertightness.

Principle

The opening of the test tube is closed, for example with a rubber collar allowing compressed air to be introduced. The test tube is then immersed in a tub of water up to the rim, and a constant pressure (30 kPa) is applied inside for 30 sec.
Observation of the test tube detects the formation of continuous air bubbles, indicating a leak.
