Toe protection: impact resistance
Objective
This test verifies the impact resistance of toe protectors.
Principle
A 20 kg steel striker with a hardness of 60 HRC and a 90° wedge angle is dropped on the protective tip. This represents a shock of 200 joules, and the residual height is measured to leave enough room for the toe.
