Corrosion of metal accessories

Objective

This test is used to determinate the propensity of a metal surface to corrode due to the action of salt water

Principle

The test consists of bringing a metal part into contact with a cotton linon test piece soaked in a sodium chloride solution. After a set time and temperature, the test specimen is subjectively evaluated for signs of corrosion and linon coloring.
