Damp heat - 40° - 96% HR (72 hours) with intermediate rating

Objective

The purpose of this determination is to assess the wet heat behaviour of a whole item, of a material sample or of an assembly. This test is in particular highly useful for evaluating the risk of corrosion of metal parts in the presence of leather materials.

Principle

The whole item (or sample) is placed for a certain time in a chamber regulated to 40°C and 96 % relative humidity. Any visible deterioration (colour change, detachment, corrosion, etc.) is noted.
