Determination of the volume of a luggage

Objective

The purpose of this determination is to verify the advertised volume of a piece of luggage or a bag.

Principle

The test consists of checking the volume of a piece of luggage. The volume measurement corresponds to the maximum internal dimensions, taking into account the ancillary pockets. This measurement can be carried out with rulers, or, for flexible items, by filling with balls that comply with the characteristics specified in standard NF G 92008.
Luggage volume is expressed in cubic decimeters (dm) or liters.
