Color fastness to water

Objective

This test is used to evaluate the staining (transfer) from leather via contact with various types of fabric in the presence of water.

Principle

The leather and a standard multi-fibre fabric are immersed in demineralised water, and are then pressed against each other at 37°C for 3 hours; after which, the deterioration and staining are evaluated against greyscale.
