Small molten metal splashes

Objective

This method quantifies thermal insulation against small splashes of molten metal falling on a glove.

Principle

The test consists in spraying drops of molten metal onto the same area of a vertically positioned test tube, then measuring the number of drops required to obtain a temperature rise of 40° on the heat sensor placed behind the test tube.
