Glove safety

 

Objective

The wearing of protective gloves must not be detrimental to the health or hygiene of the user. Materials must not release substances known to be toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, allergenic, reprotoxic, corrosive, sensitizing or irritating.

 

Principle

Leather: chromium VI < 3.0 mg/kg.
Metallic materials: nickel release < 0.5 µg/cm² per week.
All materials: 3.5 ≤pH ≤ 9.5.
Azo dyes: ND.
PU: DMFa < 1000 mg/kg (0.1% by weight).
Rubber and plastics: PAH < 1 mg/kg (see list in table 1 of the standard).
