Inspection and quality control methodology

Our inspections are carried out in accordance with ISO 17020 and are accredited to this standard in China. Since the early 2000s, our expertise and skill have been recognised in the main sourcing regions: China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Portugal, etc.

These inspections are carried out in accordance with standard ISO 28590:2017, also known as ISO 2859 and Military Standard 105E. The latter is internationally recognised as the reference standard for acceptance sampling.

Establishing the inspection plan

The inspection plan is established based on the inspection level and the Acceptable Quality Limits (AQL) set. The inspection consists in randomly taking x product samples from a lot and counting the number of defects for each defect category or the number of products with one (or more) defects.

Inspection level: Levels I, II and III are the general inspection levels. Each uses a different sample size (quantity of units) to arrive at a statistical measure.

Level I is for use with suppliers or production lines whose reliability has been established. Level III (thorough) is used where the risk of supplier failure or the introduction of new product ranges or innovations requires greater control over production.

Level II corresponds to a medium and optimal sample size and is commonly used for normal inspection plans.

Ac = Maximum number of acceptable defects
Re = Minimum number of defects for rejection

The Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) is the maximum acceptable quantity of defective products. Different AQLs can be applied to different types of defects. Generally, a separate AQL is set for each defect category. AQLs can be modified according to client requirements and/or product type.

The inspection report: after each quality inspection at the production facility, an inspection report is sent to the client within 24 hours. This inspection report details the 4 points checked: quantity, quality (AQL), conformity and packaging.
